Questions for people who consider themselves “communist and/or socialist.” Are you just lazy?

Question by VeritasViking: Questions for people who consider themselves “communist and/or socialist.” Are you just lazy?
Can you please explain why you desire to live in a communist/socialist state? I know that you may not consider people like Mao Tse Tung, Pol Pot, and Stalin etc to be “true communists” because they didn’t really follow Marx/Lennin or whatever, but why on Earth would you prefer such a system?

Marx (and the likes thereof) essentially calls for people to be content was just existing. How is that appealing? People don’t work hard to become “more than a worker” (ie lawyer, doctor, military infantry, scientist, etc) for nothing That’s just the truth. Would you go through 7+ years of school/training for something you may enjoy doing AND be rewarded so little. Let’s not get into entertainers or professional atheletes here.

My parents (ethnically, both half Frenach and half Cambodian) came the US as refugees, having survived Pol Pot’s Khmer Rouge regime. His goal was to turn Cambodia into a utopia where everyone just worked. In the process he ordered the execution of “intellecutals.” Many of my relatives died because they were teachers, lawyers, doctors, police officers, etc you name it. Many others died because of random executions due to dissent, starvation from ridiculous rations, and lack of medical care (doctors pretty much all dead or afraid to help people out of fear of being reported). They came to this country with hardly anything and little english skills. They were 21 and married when they arrived. They worked out, studied in English as Second Language Programs, attended community colleges, and transfered to university and are living quite well right now.

When they first arrived, they were on welfare. I do not doubt the need for such programs. However, their Asian culture drove them to get off it ASAP, and they did….unlike (ahem) some people who were even born in this country, who still can’t seem to make anything out of themselves.
I myself could never settle for communist/socialism. YES, I use the term “settle” in a derogatory sense. I studied my ass off in undergrad (public) to gain admission to medical doctorate school (M.D.).

I’m generally equating communism/socialsm with laziness here. Some people are rich, some are poor. Shit happens in the world. Why are you so concerned with distrubting your own hard earn wealth with everyone.

No doubt, there should be some government programs such as welfare, but I see no need to a full communist/socialist state.

You have freedom, two arms, two legs, student loan assistance, and your own determination….use it to work hard and stop relying on handouts and circulating wealth.

Do tax lawyers go to big firms or small firms or can they start a firm by themselves?

by Socialist Cartoonist اشتراكي

Question by Ted K.: Do tax lawyers go to big firms or small firms or can they start a firm by themselves?
This might sound like a stupid question but I’ve always been curious about this. When I say “tax lawyer”, I am referring to a lawyer that is also a CPA. It seems like you could really make big bucks being a lawyer and a CPA and I have heard that the hours are not that bad.

I would say that they do all 3, small, large and start their own.
There are also those that go to work for corporations.

When a lawyer first starts out he is better off to join a firm, large firms can give him the chance to get some actual practice where a smaller firm would more than likely specialize in taxes.

Starting their own firm would be tough because of the expenses and most attorneys gain experience and money then branch off onto their own.

Product Liability Attorney Advising ASR Hip Replacement Recall Victims on Ways to Protect Themselves from Further Harm

To protect the rights of hip replacement recall victims, the California product liability lawyers of Nagelberg Bernard Law Group have compiled the following information on steps to take if affected by the ASR Hip Recall.
