Robert Aronov, New York Personal Injury Lawyer, Offers Important Tips on Choosing the Right Attorney

Robert Aronov, New York Personal Injury Lawyer, Offers Important Tips on Choosing the Right Attorney

Jamaica, NY (PRWEB) January 4, 2008

Individuals who are injured in an accident that results from someone else’s negligence have a very important choice to make: who to select as a lawyer to represent them.

The choice of a personal injury attorney, says Robert Aronov, may well be the most important step for accident victims on the road to recovery. Aronov, a prominent New York personal injury lawyer, believes that in many instances the choice of a personal injury attorney can have more bearing on how victims ultimately feel about the resolution of their complaints than the pure financial award.

“Money alone is seldom what accident victims seek when they bring a lawsuit,” Aronov says. “Often, the pursuit of justice and a desire to obtain vindication is equally if not more important,” he says.

Aronov says that lawyers who only represent their clients’ financial claims can be insensitive to their clients’ emotional claims. “Our job is to try – often against impossible odds, to restore our clients’ lives as closely as possible to their pre-accident states,” Aronov says. “In that respect, spiritual recovery often is as vital a step in the healing process as financial restitution.”

Aronov advises accident victims to ask attorneys who they are thinking about retaining just how much face-to-face personal time they will receive while pursuing justice. Aronov, himself, deliberately restricts the number of cases he and his colleagues at Robert Aronov & Associates accept in order to ensure that each client gets close, personal attention.

“Ask a prospective attorney, ‘How many cases do you currently represent,'” Aronov recommends. If the answer is many hundreds or thousands, ask the attorney how he or she will find time to give you and your case the personalized care you deserve, he adds.

“An attorney who obtains a decent financial settlement for clients but never takes the time to meet with them or to address their emotional needs, only heals part of their wounds,” Aronov says. “Accidents victims have already forfeited some control of their lives. The last thing they need is to lose control over their own cases,” he adds. “The reason we call our profession ‘Personal Injury Law’ is because the cases are very personal to those bringing them.”

Los Angeles DUI Lawyer Offers Helpful Tips on New Website

(PRWEB) August 4, 2005

If you or someone close to you has ever been arrested for drunk driving in Los Angeles County, you realize that California DUI laws and procedures are complex and the punishment severe. You may also have learned the hard way that Los Angeles criminal lawyers are often unfamiliar with those complexities — including such important issues as breath-alcohol evidence, “field sobriety tests” and the California DMV’s administrative hearings and penalties for DUI driver’s license suspensions.

A prominent Los Angeles DUI attorney now offers a website filled with the information you need to know if you or a loved one ever faces a Los Angeles DUI arrest. Lawrence Taylor, nationally known as the “Dean of DUI Lawyers”, is a former Los Angeles prosecutor, professor of law, and author of the standard legal textbook in the field, “Drunk Driving Defense, 5th Edition”. Taylor has specialized in DUI defense since 1979, and is today one of only 4 California DUI attorneys who is Board-certified by the National College for DUI Defense/American Bar Association as a DUI Specialist. His Los Angeles DUI law firm of 8 lawyers, including 4 former prosecutors, specializes in drunk driving defense exclusively and has received the highest rating possible by the prestigious “Martindale-Hubbell International Law Directory.”

The new website ( http://www.losangelesduilaw.com/ ), provides helpful information on such important topics as:

What driving patterns Los Angeles patrol officers are looking for

What to expect and what to do during a DUI investigation and arrest

How to save your California driver’s license from a DUI suspension

Police evidence in DUI cases, including field sobriety tests

How to calculate your probable blood-alcohol level

Information about the criminal courts of Los Angeles County

How the California DMV suspension hearings work

Procedures for getting a copy of your driving record

Finding an experienced and competent Los Angeles DUI defense attorney

In the website’s section on “Police DUI Evidence,” for example, subjects are covered such as types of driving which will attract the attention of police; personal behavior and appearance which are symptoms of intoxication (flushed face, slurred speech, fumbling with wallet, etc.); field sobriety tests (walk-and-turn, one-leg-stand, nystagmus and others); breath testing in the field with PAS (preliminary alcohol screening) devices; avoiding incriminating statements; and chemical testing used in Los Angeles County — blood, breath and urine (including some defects in breath testing).

You may visit the Los Angeles DUI Lawyers website at http://www.losangelesduilaw.com/ for further information.

Robert Aronov, New York Personal Injury Lawyer, Offers Tips for Those Involved in Holiday Car Accidents

Jamaica, NY (PRWEB) December 19, 2007

Nothing can douse the holiday spirit faster than being involved in a car accident, especially one in which you or a loved one is injured.

Yet, iced roads and too much holiday drinking too often do lead to accident and injury. For those who become accident victims, Robert Aronov & Associates, a leading New York personal injury law firm, offers these common sense suggestions.

1.    First and foremost, seek immediate medical treatment. Too often, accident victims delay seeing a medical professional because they hope their aches will go away by themselves or because they don’t want to take the time out of holiday festivities to get a proper medical evaluation.

But sometimes serious injuries do not immediately present due to the shock and disorientation that follow an accident. The best precaution is always to be evaluated by a competent medical professional.

2.    Neither accept nor assign blame on the spot. In the immediate aftermath of an accident, it is no time to try and make clear-headed evaluations of who did what. Often “fault” does not become evident until a third-party, trained investigator can consider all the facts.

Accident victims should cooperate to the best of their ability with on-scene law enforcement personnel. But stick to the facts as you know them, without assigning those facts value judgments such as whose fault you think the accident was.

3.    Get to know and trust a personal injury lawyer before you ever need one. The immediate aftermath of an injury-related accident is not an ideal time to go “shopping” for an attorney. Look for an experienced lawyer who will fight to protect all of your legal and financial interests. It might be wise to keep the name of the attorney and law firm in your vehicle with your insurance papers.

4.    Do not discuss a “settlement” of your injury claims without first consulting a qualified personal injury lawyer. Personal injury lawyers are your advocates who will ensure that you do not forfeit your legal rights by settling prematurely with insurance companies or those who have caused your injuries.

5.    Drive defensively. The best way to deal with an injury accident is to avoid it in the first place. Remember to leave extra space between your car and others in inclement weather. Be extra careful at intersections, where other drivers may not be able to stop on iced roads or may run lights due to in-car distractions. And, of course, never drive after you yourself have been drinking. Even if you are not legally drunk, alcohol may slow your reaction times.

For more information on how to select a competent personal injury lawyer, contact Robert Aronov & Associates, with five convenient offices in Queens, Brooklyn and New York City. You may phone 718-206-1555 or visit the firm’s site at www.accidentattorneyinjury.com

Anna Nicole Smith and The Legal Rights of Unborn Children — Lisa Beth Older Offers Analysis on Howard K Stern, Dannielynn and Anna Nicole Smith

New York, NY (PRWEB) February 26, 2007

MSNBC News legal analyst, NYC lawyer Lisa Beth Older, Esq., appeared on MSNBC News Saturday and Sunday, raising novel concerns regarding Anna Nicole Smith and the legal rights of unborn children that go to the heart of what is on everyone’s mind. Is Larry Birkhead the father of Danni lyn? Is Howard K. Stern the father of Danni Lyn? Is O.J. SImpson the father? Is paternity the same as custody? New York City divorce lawyer and nyc divorce lawyer Lisa Beth Older offers her analysis.

Upon the death of Anna Nicole Smith, and with the custody, paternity and chidl support parentage issues of Dannielynn Smith in balance, New York City MSNBC and ABC News Lisa Beth Older, Esq. addressed a serious loop hole in State laws which leave the question of the rights of unborn children to the potential capriciousness of other foreign countries. This breaking news angle on Anna Nicole Smith and the right of unborn children and viable fetuses has the world pondering the fate of Dannielynn and the human rights of all unborn children. Custody, paternity and DNA testing needs to be addressed in these cases as well as in the case of Anna Nicole Smith.

Foreseeing the problem of parental kidnapping of children and forum shopping for custody, chidl support and other fmaily law benefits, as in the case of Larry Birkhead, Howard K. Stern, and Dannilynn Hope Smith, as to paternity and DNA testing results, most States have already adopted UIFSA, the Uniform Interstate Family Support Act, and the UCCJEA, the Uniform Child-Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act, and both sets of laws provide State courts with the power to determine paternity and custody where there is more than one state involved, such as where one parent kidnaps or brings a child across state lines. The laws rely upon the notion of “home state” jurisdiction, which is defined as the Court located where the child is born or has lived six months prior. If Congress does not act to expand the time of “home state jurisdiction” to include the time of pregnancy; a change from six months to fifteen months, and if UCCJEA and UIFSA is not amended, nyc divorce lawyer Lisa Beth Older argues that the unborn child is potentially deprived of knowing their biological parents and asserting US citizenship. This ny divorce lawyer asserts changes need to be made to safeguard the unborn fetus.

The UCCJEA fails to safeguard unborn fetuses conceived in the United States. The National Commission has reported to Congress that the Bahamas is currently listed as a country of concern as a country that doesn’t act on applications and abide by the rules of the Hague convention for the return of abducted children to the US.

Lisa Beth Older argues that Howard K. Stern, Anna Nicole Smith, and even Larry Behead and others like them under the prevailing law, may be encouraged to leave the United States in order to legally circumvent United States law governing paternity and Custody, laws which rightfully give preference to the biological father under the US Supreme Court decision of Stanley v. Illinois. If a child like Dannielynn is conceived in the US by Larry Birkhead but brought to the Bahamas, then it is up to the biological father to rebut the presumption of legal parentage by requesting discretionary blood testing.

In the Bahamas, ny family law lawyer Lisa Beth Older says, the law presumes that legal parentage and custody and paternity, is in the man who cohabits with the pregnant mother for a significant time and enters into a voidable marriage. This is to the detriment of the biological father and to his unborn fetus. The laws governing New York Family Courts act differently than foreign sovereigns. If the Bahamas does not order blood testing on Anna Nicole Smith’s the unborn child the child may never know her biological parent. An unborn child has the fundamental human right to know their biological father, and to allow people, such as Howard Stern, to remove an unborn child from US jurisdiction not only sets bad precedent but also encourages other pregnant woman and their friends to flee the United States in an arbitrary effort to defeat the fundamental human rights of all biological fathers and unborn children throughout the world. As such in the ultimate analysis Larry Birkhead and has an uphill battle at this point.
