Q&A: HELP!! Should I include the following “SENTENCE” in the following paragraph…?

Question by marky_funky: HELP!! Should I include the following “SENTENCE” in the following paragraph…?
Hi. I am writing a law personal statement. Here is my paragraph. I am deciding on whether to keep the sentence which is in capital letters? Advice please!

“I have many accomplishments, one of which includes helping Central Senior School win the chess championship in the Victoria County Chess League. Chess has taught me to choose the best move when competing under pressure. Throughout the chess tournament, I learned to formulate effective strategies for a successful match; the development of such techniques is also essential in resolving conflicting legal situations. A lawyer needs to have the same mindset as a chess player. “THE LAWYER AND THE CHESS PLAYER BOTH REQUIRE A SIMILAR APPROACH TO THEIR RESPECTIVE PURSUITS.” The experienced chess player is able to think two to three moves ahead in order to gain the advantage in a match. Likewise, the competent lawyer is capable of planning a number of strategies in advance for the successful management of legal cases.

I don’t think you need to keep it in. You basically already outlined your point in the previous sentence, so the sentence in question is just repeating a point already made, and then you give examples after that which outline why they have to have the same mindset. One thing you learn in law is to be concise and not to include unneeded information. Hope this helps!

Management. It implies more juggling of information and foreward thinking. Handling is a more personal smaller-seeming word. You handle a bratty child. You manage law strategy.

Question by McMurphy: Can you please explain the following to a “2 year old” (me)?
The difference (if any) between:
a litigator
a trial lawyer
a lawyer

Best answer:

Answer by eastchic2001
A litigator is a trial lawyer and a lawyer. A lawyer can be a litigator/trial lawyer, but most aren’t. You can be an estate lawyer (somebody who writes wills, for example) and never go into a courtroom, thus no trial/no litigation.

Isn’t it about time for Atlas to Shrug? To kick the Altered Rouge “Democrat” Following Parasites to the Curb?

Question by cybe: Isn’t it about time for Atlas to Shrug? To kick the Altered Rouge “Democrat” Following Parasites to the Curb?
The people who really produce have the power. Not the Parasitic Unions, Not Lawyers, Not Federal Government Bureaucrat leaches. Not over entitled Union Teachers, not the scum running the Universities doing a crappy job of imparting useful and correct knowledge to our children. Especially not Politicians who work against the will of the people to take more power from the people for themselves to give them control over us. Not the scum in the Justice department bought off by big money supporters of democrat despots, or their IRS, ATF, and DEA thugs who think they are above the law and have been made so by the despots running our government contrary to our Constitution. Not the false environmentalists who are actually not worried about the environment but use it for a pretext to push a Communist agenda, stinking Watermellon environmentalists the democrats love so much. Not the activist Judges who know no law except their mobs own agenda and blow their noses on the Constitution.

It’s time to take back, to take out the trash, to let the Middle Eastern and European Powers buying our politicians and officials, our entertainment industry, our colleges … to keep their influence over on their side of the pond, or else they will face consequences that hostile forces do that attack our country, because that is what they are after all.

LegalView Informs Parents of Crib Recall Following Several Infant Deaths Caused by Asphyxiation from Improper Crib Mechanisms

Denver, CO (PRWEB) January 11, 2009

Legalview.info, the number one resource for everything and anything legal on the Web, recently announced a crib recall of Delta Enterprises cribs, which have been linked to several infant deaths because of an allegedly faulty drop-side rail and peg mechanisms. In December 2008, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (UPSC) along with Delta recalled the cribs due to “side rails on certain Delta cribs that were breaking in ways that could trap and kill babies,” according to the Chicago Tribune. However, according to an in-depth investigation by the Chicago Tribune there were a “long trail of warning signs that began at least a decade before this fall’s recall.”

Individuals who have been victim to the crib’s dangers are encouraged to contact an experienced crib recall attorney or crib recall lawyer for a free legal consultation on the development of a potential crib recall lawsuit, which may offer monetary compensation to pay for any treatments of injuries caused by the crib’s dangers. Additionally, LegalView will be providing updated information on its crib recall information portal to provide parents and potential victims of the Delta crib recall with the latest news regarding the investigation and dangers surrounding the crib incident.

In addition to LegalView providing updated resources for parents on the crib recall, LegalView also provides a plethora of legal topics to choose from for those who may be suffering from an array of legal dilemmas including a traumatic brain injury, truck accident or mesothelioma diagnosis.

Individuals who are one of the 5.4 million U.S. citizens currently suffering from a brain injury can find assistance not only by contacting a knowledgeable brain injury medical professional, but by also contacting a well-informed traumatic brain injury lawyer who can provide a free legal consultation on the details of a potential brain injury lawsuit that may result in a monetary compensation to aid payment of expensive medical treatments.

Similarly, individuals of a truck accident, which is often deemed the most costly and fatal of all vehicular accidents, are encouraged to not only have their injuries checked out by a professional emergency medical services provider, but to also locate a truck accident attorney. By locating a truck accident lawyer, individuals may be able to develop detailed litigation on their individual case that may provide a monetary sum for damages incurred.

LegalView also offers information on mesothelioma as well as how victims can obtain assistance by contacting a mesothelioma attorney. Mesothelioma is a cancer that is caused after a victim has inhaled asbestos fibers or dust. The fibers cause the creation of cancerous cells forming on the interior lining of the lungs and organs. The cancer is often considered a silent disease because it remains dormant in a victim for several years, most commonly 10 to 30 years. By the time a mesothelioma diagnosis is determined, it is often too late. The research took place at the University of Missouri-Columbia and followed 26 individuals who were considered to have modest TBI, but were able to function within society as “walking wounded,” according to the blog. The study found that those who suffered from right parietal lobe damage experienced more feelings of being lost or spaced out, which was the equivalent of measuring higher on the standard measure of spirituality test, according to blog reports on the research. This is also known as contralateral neglect, according to research from Rutgers University, also known as The State University of New Jersey. Contralateral Neglect Syndrome can cause brain injury victims to obtain “information from the contralateral side, but patients may not have a conscious awareness” of this side thus leading to feelings of dislocation from the world.

For example, LegalView offers the latest information on crib recalls as well as rare and debilitating conditions such as mesothelioma and Nephrogenic Systemic Fibrosis (NSF).

Recently, a Chicago Tribune investigation revealed a long history of alleged dangers surrounding the production of Delta Enterprise cribs, which prompted a recall in the fall. The company apparently finally recalled the faulty cribs following the deaths of several babies alleged caused by asphyxiation from the cribs. Individuals who have suffered from the Delta crib failure are encouraged to contact the company as well as an knowledgeable wrongful death attorney.

Both mesothelioma cancer and NSF are rare, yet devastating conditions in which a victim can suffer immensely. Mesothelioma is a cancer caused by the inhalation of asbestos fibers and dust, which develops cancerous cells on the lining of the lungs and organs. The condition remains dormant for several years until symptoms are revealed and treatment is not usually a successful option.

Similarly is a condition known as NSF, which has no known cause or successful treatment, although medical experts have linked NSF to the administration of gadolinium dyes during magnetic resonance image/magnetic resonance angiogram (MRI/MRA) tests among kidney disease patients. The condition can cause the skin to harden and joints to swell, eventually leading to the inability of a victim to move or bend joints without assistance. Individuals who have suffered from either condition should find help through contacting a mesothelioma law firm or NSF attorney, which can better equip a victim of these terrifying conditions with support and aid.
