Colorado Defense Lawyers Association Board of Directors Approve the 2011 Budget and Recognize Members Who Passed the July 2010 Colorado Bar Exam

Littleton, CO (PRWEB) October 10, 2010

This no doubt is a huge relief for managing partners and individual candidates alike.

The Colorado Supreme Court announced that Ryan Polk of Montgomery, Little & Soran, P.C. and Michael Sager of Patterson, Nuss & Seymour, P.C., both members of the CDLA, passed July’s bar examination.

“The legal landscape has changed dramatically over the last 20 years,” stated President Brendan Powers of Spies Powers & Robinson. “Margins are so tight, and young lawyers change jobs so frequently, that the notion of the mentoring law firm is fading into history. In such an environment young lawyers must get active in organizations like the CDLA. It gives them identity. It teaches professionalism and dignity through association. It elevates them among their peers. The relationships they develop here serve throughout their careers and do honor to this very unique profession.”

Mr. Powers also announced the Board of Directors’ approval of the operating and convention budget for 2011. “It is within the context of the changed legal landscape that the CDLA has undergone a pretty remarkable metamorphosis over the past couple of years. The notion of a single-event bar association has been replaced and invigorated by year-round legislative webinars, free CLEs pertinent to the defense industry and the preservation of the jury system, a remarkably active listserv, and this year area the introduction of an enhanced trial academy. All to strengthen our members’ place in the legal community and elevate the Colorado Defense Lawyers Association organization as the premier litigation bar association in Colorado.”
